    I think it is a fair reason of closing google video.
    They allready have youtube. They should have closed it long time ago.

    Google knew they were losing the video wars, so they bought youtube.

    It was just a matter of time before google video was closed. I am a little amazed that it took this long.

    Google video was still quite popular, because the copyright protectors started to forget about google video, so there were a lot of copyrighted videos/movies on it.

    Google should figure out a way to get youtube back in China, maybe through a chinese portal or whatever.

    Google video was going in the right direction before the Youtube purchase. After that it seemed like they stopped trying. From Google/Youtube standpoint, I can see why. It's much more profitable for them when they control the video and the website it's posted on, rather than just index the video.

    It's only a matter of time before another service like Google Video emerges. Good video content is hard to produce, and I don't think people are stupid enough to keep giving it away their hard work to sites like Youtube. It's very, very hard to make a decent amount of money from their partners program, and by posting on youtube you are forced to link to "similar videos" (aka your competition!). I don't know how this can last..

    I can't believe Google has so much money to spend, they just start the thing and close the thing in no time. GOogle doesn't care about money... wow, hard to belive.. they closed video.google.com :(
