Even though I didn't know him I would like to convey my deepest condolences to his family. He has truly helped many a members here, almost all of his 6,000+ post's are solutions to someones questions. Rest In Peace. P.S - This last post made by Dan Schulz made me very emotional : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=12736227&postcount=8
Hi Like I said this is Ryan from Lt. We are trying to setup a memorial page. I knew (as he was admin on LT) of some projects he wanted to take, and we are going to do them for him as he would of wanted.
I am so sorry to hear that, he left us at such a young age I never knew him personally but over the years, I have read hundreds of very comprehensive and helpful posts from him, here and at sitepoint He had the true spirit of being part of a community and helped others as much as he could. Some of the very best advice offered at SEO sections was by him, he helped others selflessly, without looking anything in return and that is why he will be always held in very high regard May his family and friends get the strength to bear the great loss!
RIP Dan, It's a great loss to the webmaster community, but we must appreciate the time and help we received from him whilst he was here, and remember the good times!
Just heard the sad news about Dan. I remember him being a genuinely helpful guy and really making a positive contribution here. My thoughts go to his family at this difficult time.
I can't say I know the name, or could even remember anything by him on DP UNTIL I saw that avatar, now I remember... RIP
This is really sad news, as others have said it shows how short life is. Just from DP forums I know that Dan was a great guy, friendly, helpful and selfless. I've always had 2 of his threads here on DP bookmarked, and I must have read through them many times, because they are so short, yet so informative. One of the cleanest guides on how to set-up any page, in so few words. I always refer this time after time in order to understand how to correctly markup my pages. Funnily enough this wasn't even his thread, it was a response, to a user on their 1st post, just shows how he was always prepared to help. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=880896#post8141503 I know this has already been posted in this thread but it really is all you need to know about SEO: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=413544 One thread where he personally helped me out sometime last year: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=741629 To think of the amount of people Dan has educated in his short life is amazing. R.I.P Dan.
