Hello, I have a website related to mobile phones. I wish to start selling ringtones in my website. I already have a server to deliver ringtones into mobile phones. I just need to know if ringtones are "right-protected" (it should be), and how can i contact companies who can provide me rights to sell ringtones in my website? Thank you.
Just incase you weren't already aware, there are CPA companies who have ringtone offers. They pay around $10 per conversion. Check out Azoogle.
yeah, but i don't wanna sell other's ringtones... i want to sell my own ringtones in my own website, using my sms delivery system....
well i would also be interested to know whats the procedure as i know you have to contact the production house to sell ringtones nd share revenue and you also have to have deals with mobile operators
The answer is simple. All ringtones from existing music is copyright protected and you can be and will be sued if you make your own and distribute it in any means. (This is if you make you own music, that is another thing) Simply visit sites like BMG, http://www.bmg.com/ Here you will find information on the procedures you need to follow in order to distribute ringtones. I checked a couple of years ago but the fees were quite high that time. You pay a certain fee, along with a fee for each download of the ringtone, etc. etc. Hope this helps.
