Well my conversions lately have been great. I'm glad I'm working with organic traffic - I'll still have issues if these changes do occur, but it will be a lot easier than what the PPC advertisers will face (trying to bring their bids low enough to maintain a decent margin).

I'm a pretty optimistic person by nature, so I'm not overly worried yet.

If conversions drop because of the added steps, the bids will follow. The margin won't be affected.

Right, I'm saying for those in the PPC business they will have lots of bid adjusting to do to keep their margins....but those of us generating organic traffic don't have to worry about that step.

It will take some time for advertisers to figure out exactly how their conversions are affected (maybe some keywords will be affected more than others) and take steps to continue earning a profit.

Yea. No doubt work. I'm guessing less competition too for the weak at heart. ;)

Ringtones is only some side extra income compared to my other campaigns so perhaps I'll look at this as a way to do something new with that niche.

I think it could be very interesting. I think the ringtone market is mucked up with a large number of affiliates who have no idea what they are doing. All these blind squirrels will run for the hills as soon as things change and they get scared. This will clear the playing field a bit, and with bids dropping regardless, they could potentially drop MORE than the conversion decrease.

    Only time will tell.

Yea bc a 13 year old with a cell phone really cares that their parents will get billed $9.99 a month forever, they just want their Justin Timberlake ringtone to blare at school.

This is a completely sketchy industry that takes advantage of the fact that people not authorized to enter into contracts can with their "easy" billing.

while this may be forth coming as others have stated ultimately it would lead to higher payout becasue the user drop rate would be less... I think also this would be great for those that promote ringtones legitamitely and dont hit that it costs 9.99 a month... as i still see landing pages for signup that only outlay the cost at the VERY bottom of the page.. as always dont put all your eggs in one basket.
