Just curious. There is a site being sold on eBay and i remember a few months back, someone was selling a similar site and i almost bid on it. . But then i called Azoogle to find out of their stats reports were true and they told me that no, they were forged.. This is not the same seller, but are these ringstone sites a scam? Is it true that some law was passed saying that automatic billing by these means is going to be illegal soon? http://cgi.ebay.com/ESTABLISHED-Website-Business-PROOF-12K-77263-Hits_W0QQitemZ170048505645QQihZ007QQcategoryZ46687QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item170048505645
I am not an expert on this by any means at all; however, the site (ebay auction) speels the exact type of website that I would stay away from. The flashy "You can make 12,934 in x days type of crap. I see it time and time again, and get really bored with it actually. Not sure, I guess. It just looks like a "scam" site. That is enough for me to stay away
All such listings are indeed fraudulent. All statistics presented as factual by these Sellers in such auctions are fake and misrepresent the realistic profitability of Ringtone sites. The screenshots are likewise 100% forged. Investigations are being conducted to determine the source(s) of these auctions. If you see such listings, please report them immediately to eBay and Azoogle. -Azoogle Compliance Dept.
I have reported them to eBay in the past. They dont give a damn. Azoogle though, i reported the last ringtone site auction like this one.. but by the time they responded it was too late.. .. and some poor buyer paid over 12k for it. SAD.
was it something rightones.atspace.com or sumin, im in a right rush so i cnt check the link but... i heard about a scam on ebay with a ringtone site, dont know if it was true tho
This was the scam from last time.. was back when i first joined the forum here. I made a post about it. The site went up to over 12,000 and then i removed my bid and so did someone else i believe so it sold for 6k. Someone got screwed: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=121735
Yeah, its a joke. They do it for a quick sale and claim to make 12 dollars for everyone that signs up. I dont think these sites are scams.. i think that if you sign up with azoogle, you can make money, but you have to actually get people to sign up through your website. The people selling the sites claim to be already making that but in reality, all of the information is forged and Azoogle is watching them very carefully. Also i did a little research and it is not illegal to get people to sign up, BUT you cannot advertise the site as 'free ringtones', or anything that makes them think they will not be charged for signing up.
Affiliate publishing of ringtone campaigns (assuming that the person follows all mobile compliance guidelines and our T&Cs) is a legitimate business. These eBay auctions are a scam in that more than one person is involved and the forged data is being passed around in the public domain. Almost every week a new auction using the same sales pitch goes up on eBay. Ironically, some Sellers do invite people to contact us. Many have, many have not. While we cannot disclose actual earnings, we can say that the vast majority of these sites point to long dead or terminated accounts that have, in fact, earned a mere fraction of the touted earnings. A number of complainants were successful in getting their money back, but this behavior is continuing. Despite eBay's efforts, or lack thereof, we're watching and taking appropriate action whenever possible.
