Ringtone Ads

How is it possible to profit from ringtone ads on google adwords anymore when the minimum bid is $10/Click?!?

I'm trying to promote mainly that Azoogle dada offer which only nets you $10.50 right now. So where's the motivation?

Ever since shoemoney blogged about it it's gone down hill... Maybe ringtones are dead? or maybe i'm just a real newbie.

I am a newbie to Adwords but I did target specific Exact match using [ brackets. I even targeted some weird combinations of words and yet the minimum bid is still $10/click.

If anyone has any pointers or other ad networks to try , PM me and let me know.

I'm just looking to do a minimal test, say, around $100-$300 for this month alone.

    Thanks in advance.

Raise the quality score on your landing page. Make it less spammy. Bid on keywords that're relevant.

Think about what the end user wants.

On that note - ringtones is a very tough PPC market to crack for beginners, I suggest you try some easier ones since you'll literally need to use every trick in the book to dominate that...

Ask your Azoogle manager for some advice.

If you are getting $10.00 bids you are doing something wrong.

That is Google telling you they do not want your ad.

And Art is right.. as a new person on the scene, the last place you want to learn about PPC advertising is on Adwords.

It is the most complex, and most competitive. You should look for other areas to cut your teeth first.

    Alright.

    Thanks for the advice.

So do you suggest running ads on msn ad center as I already have an account with them?

I'm about to give up on adwords. I've edited my ad so much to be highly relevant to one keyword but the minimum bid is still $10

Is there a delay between when Google thinks your ad is "good enough" to get relevant pricing?

Quality score is evaluted every 24 hours. If worst comes to worst, show us your landing page. If you don't have a landing page, make one! QS isn't just related to ad copy.

They do it to new adwords publishers.
My roomate just signed up and I was explaining a few of the keywords lists that I use. While it's completely unrelated to ringtones, I get an avg. CPC of $0.02, where as for most of the keywords he needs to bid $0.15 -$0.30 to even be listed.

The trick to adwords is to get an ad that gets the clicks. You might have to pay a little more in the start of your campaign just to get listed, but after that you can lower your max CPC as the rating for your ad goes up.

That's why they give out those big coupons, to blow money in the start :)

The thing is this adwords account is like 2 years old. I blew some money on some FLOP website I had and never used it again until now. So my account is still new right?

Art, I'm being lazy as this is just a test... I'm just using the landing page provided by Azoogle. Yes I know I should make my own.. I probably will. I will register a new domain and set one up sometime.

BTW thanks for your advice everyone, I really appreciate it.

Regarding them doing it to new adwords publishers - I had the impression I was getting better quality clicks when I started out ;)

Logically it doesn't make sense, it's in Google's absolute best interests to give as good a ROI as possible to as many people as possible. This is how they ensure long term advertisers stay with them.

I think the issue plaguing newer advertisers is their inexperience, as opposed to some sort of hazing algorithm :)

@TomN: I highly recommend you build your own landing page as you won't have to compete for clicks between others who're linking directly to Dada's offer. Google's PERPS (paid engine results pages ;)) will only show 1 ad per domain.

In line with what Aeiouy said, I'd look for alternative networks that deal with a great deal less relevancy. adCenter is great if you're on a budget, however its interface and slowness will more than likely turn you off PPC forever ;)

Overture is a great place since you can be certain on what you're bidding, and you can be certain of your position. The only issue is the stupidly long approval times.

In all seriousness, I'd look at trying to getting a large AdWords vouchersand using that amount to learn PPC. AdWords is the most responsive and the easiest to learn provided you do a great deal of digging for advice and info.

I'd definitely avoid ringtones to start out with though.
