Right price for advertising

    Hello

I developed a quite popular astrology website (PR5) and put Adsense on it. The situation is that I think it's worth more than I earn through Adsense, so I'm turning to one-to-one advertising.

I wonder what would be the right price for 1,000 banner impressions? With Adsense, I get between $0.5-$1.5/1,00 banner impressions/day, depending on banner's placement and size.
I don't know how much Adwords clients actually pay and I'm not sure how to determine a fair price. How do I find out?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I buy ads for several advertisiers and have found that websites vary, here is what I did last month

    download.com - $0.45 CPM
    Jmeeting.com - $0.85 CPM
    gamesloan.com - $0.26 CPM
    upload.com - $0.16 CPM
    arcade-gameplay - $0.57 CPM

So, I think $1.50 CPM is very good. Very few ad networks will pay you that, and in most cases it would depend on the advertisers willing to bid higher.

On the other hand if you have high quality and consistent traffic then you may do better with a direct sale to an advertiser.

I have bought ads for $150 CPM, but on websites like sportsline.com. But only at the advertiser's request.

It is out there but not easy to find. I would say stick to adsense until you find better.

$1.50 cpm can be nice for one ad spot. If that is your only ad on the site that might be low.

I know it can depend a lot what site is about. A busy automotive site can get $20 or higher cpm. I have a pr5 road rage site, and I get $2cpm on banners, and I am sold out way into next year. Astrology? Might want to try the supply and demand game. I like selling ad space myself. For my new site listed below in my signature I had no idea what it was worth so I started the price at $.012 cpm two weeks ago. It's not 12 cents anymore, and I have already sold 120,000 impressions...paid in advanced.
