Right doctype???

    Hi everybody,
    can anyone find me the right doctype for this blog?

    http://chiamiamowashington.splinder.com

    The script debugger gives me a sintax error on the first line of the markup and I thought it is due to the absence of doctype declaration. I need one that makes the site look good with both I.E. and Firefox.

    Thanks for your help,
    Mauro :)

    This is not valid HTML - any doctype:

    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://chiamiamowashington.splinder.com/

    Some parts look like XHML:

    <base href="http://chiamiamowashington.splinder.com" />

    Some are not even HTML (px is invalid in HTML - it's a CSS thing):

    <body BGCOLOR=#FFFFFF LEFTMARGIN=0px TOPMARGIN=0px MARGINWIDTH=0px MARGINHEIGHT=

    Pick any doctype and then try to make this page to validate properly. Otherwise, you can't expect different browsers to render it the way you'd expect.

    Purchase an older version of DreamWeaver (or a new version) and use it. You will learn about doctypes quickly and it will create the right one.
