    If I hire someone to do 3 months of SEO work for my keyword, and I adventualy get top on Google, how do I know if people are attualy searching for my keyword?


    at the moment for my keyword theres only 60,600.

    And I get top how do I know people will search my keyword?

    Use google trends and overture to find out if people are searching for your keyword and how many of them

    It depends on the keyword you are targetting, the more competitive a keyword is the more you will have to spend to get to the top of the SERPs.

    Its a keyword that people use in my city, nothing else.

    No one outside of my city uses that keyword.

    If the results are only 60,000 for a keyword+city you are probably spending too much money

    Its pretty easy to rank for this.

    The key is not to go overboard on the seo. You need to check the number of backlinks your competitors have and not exceed the average by too much or you may trip an over-optimization filter.

    I would experiment with free directory submissions, use yahoo site explorer to see where your competition is getting backlinks and get a few good one-way ibls. Then watch to see how the site does.
