It did seem a little strange that he would buy jeans on Ebay. I knew he was over extending himself as soon as he started up with those Tv commercials. He got too greedy and lost it all. It's sad imo. His wife worked hard to support him while he was making this internet business of his and he just screws it up with that poor business model. Tv Commericials and Guess what I heard were both big mistakes imo. Just money down the toilet that he will never get back. Jeremy Palmer, Shoe Money and Shawn all did it right. Make your money and just be quiet. Don't try to be this huge mega star. Honestly, he was lucky to make it as far as he did because no woman that I know would support a man while he starts a shaky internet business. I just hope he doesn't kill himself. His Book: Honestly, I felt like it was... ... a fairly decent and useful book to some extent. This book introduced me to grey hat seo and it pulled the curtain back on how affiliate products are really marketed. I thought I had to be some kind of expert to sale products on the internet but that's just not the case at all. It truely opened my eyes. I'd say about 99% of the sites in my industry (probably any profitable industry) are just sites looking to make money in some way or another. Regardless of their education or background most of these guys are giving out biased information so they can push visitors to affiliated products. It definitely helped me as a consumer. However, that sales letter has yet to help me get decent conversion rates. Jeremy Palmer's book and even a couple of free tips from Shoemoney's blog worked a lot better than RJ in that department.
Well I can't see what else his motive would be except to make money from people that want to think that they can become rich following his advice. Do you see another motive? When he writes jerk emails like the ones found in this thread does he sound like a guy doing it to help anyone or to make people get upset and try to follow his advice?
just so long as he doesn't star in his own adult home movie ala Dustin Diamond of 'Saved by the Bell' fame
Oh wow, never thought I'd see this. I definitely thought he was going a bit overboard with his commercials, but I guess you can only go too far.
i doubt he is. he probably just wants to find buyers and get out. think about it. aside from his flamboyant commercial spending, the thing does very well with sales. he might be looking for people to think about buying it and turning it around (all the while it's not even broken). he could have many buyers potentially bidding on it like a foreclosure - only he is setting the price...
Since he knew so much about affiliate marketing... I could see where he might have blown a bunch of money. But I don't see how anyone with his amount of practical knowledge could actually be truly bankrupt.
MAybe it's true he's ego exceeded his logic and hence spent all on TV advertising. And now has to desperately sell. I mean such a successful site. Why would you sell it unless you're desperate.
If he is lucky he will have just enough money left to buy a Tony Robbins ebook and totally re-motivate himself.
apparently kelly used all the investor money to make those ads with ferraris and big houses and stuff + a load of adverts on howard stern or something like that lost a load of cash given by investors and is kinda screwed and trying to make it back the official story i think has changed to "the different owners want to go in different directions" which really indicates that he sold out parts of rich jerk already and then sold out again to maximise the cash then spent it all and now he is screwed
Now the Rich Jerk is pissed with Shoemoney. http://www.shoemoney.com/2007/05/24/the-rich-jerk-is-pissed/
he's the one who started all the crap. I hate ppl who dish it out but can't seem to handle the repurcussions
Yeah the guy really lives up to his name, seems to be a real jackass. I can't stand people who can't handle issues in a civilized manner. You would think the guy is in high school arguing over a homecoming date. Good God. I hope Shoe de_stroys him. Or at least puts him in his place.
