For the development of Rich Internet Applications.. if a guy with just the basic programming concepts.. which language would be worth learning? php with ajax adobe flex
For a freelancer - PHP with the mandatory XHTML/MySQL/JavaScript and Ajax if you wish For carrier in a big company - .NET, Java
i agree freelance and because PHP/MySQL and Ajax is so much friggin fun to use and open ended. I would say PHP/SQL-Ajax plus there's a lot of free developer stuff on the Internet like wamp server. WOOOo that little wamp package is awesome. No more days of configuring apache annoying bugs and checking all the check boxes to turn on this and not that etc. Learn PHP and you'll be able to write the code as fast as HTML . not jokin. its veyr quick and fluent.
Note that there are A LOT OF developers with PHP/Ajax skills. You will be able to find work easily. But also in this case you will get low salary. In comparison, there are not so much Flash/Flex/AIR specialists. It can take more time to find good work, but your salary can be much more greater.
what leska said is very true. php devs are as common as muck. learn air/flex or get really good at ajax/js/frontend effects to get more cash
they teach php/mysql in 2nd grade in india nowadays. if you want to work for $6-8/hour, php is definitely your meal ticket.
