Rhapsody - can't get it to convert, any ideas?

Over the last couple months I've had hundreds of clicks for the Rhapsody music streaming service, and none has converted. No sales, no leads.

I don't think my website sucks, it's all original, interesting content. And even if the traffic isn't exactly targetted, it seems like I'd have at least ONE sale by now.

I emailed Rhapsody twice to make sure my links were ok but haven't gotten a response. Clicks are showing, though impressions aren't -- I believe this is an expected result of using their RWS service for specific album and song links.

Anyone have any ideas what could be happening or why my site isn't getting it done? I could work with it if it was a low conversion rate, but zero... wow.

Getting someone to signup and download the software can be hard. The main problem is that you're billing the link as "Streaming audio" of the track. To my knowledge, they only pay on the trial, which users are not prompted with when they download the software, and aren't even forced into signing up for. Users can do exactly what they're promised - Listen for free. Basically, Real is doing a really bad job (no pun intended) at converting visitors to buyers.

If that's true then I misunderstood the process. I thought people had to sign up for the trial to get the player, hence my commission. You mean anyone can listen to free music all they want without registering??

Can anyone on DP listen to music for free from my site? (Has to be in the U.S.) If so, well hell... time to drop Rhapsody!

And none of this explains iTunes' lack of conversion either...

I'm pretty sure that there's a free plan that allows streaming of a few tracks each month, and internet radio. Coming from your site to Rhapsody, I'm prompted to download the software in order to listen - Big killer there. If Real just put a signup form before the download on the artist/song pages, I'm sure conversion rates would skyrocket.

When I land on an artist page from your site and click "play music", this is what I get - http://www.rhapsody.com/install?playerVersion=rhapsodyeventsplayer&upgrade=false . Haven't installed it myself, but that's a different path than the "sign up for unlimited music" button takes me to - http://www.real.com/rhapsody/info.html?src=rcom_marq .
