    It can happen within 48hrs - months.

    Two weeks back I launched a new blog and was indexed within 24 hours and hit number one for a keyword within 48hrs.

    It is instant for me sometimes, just get a link from a forum or something. Post your link somewhere and you'd get Google on your site. It takes 24 hours mostly
