Rewriting website contents

    Hi AlL

One of my new site had just been indexed by google and yahoo few days ago. But I feel that some of my website contents need to be improved. If I were to rewrite part of the contents, say to expand the original content and add more value to it, would it hurt the current ranking of the site?

    Thanks.

I don't see how that would hurt. I would be careful about replacing words that you already rank well for in the SERPS. So, for example, if you rank well for "red bikes", don't change the title from "red bikes" to "red bicycles".

Better quality content should be good thing.

You can add more content and other keywords aswell, just be sure of your titles as changing these might have an effect on your indexing

No, it shouldn't hurt your site's rank. If you're not sure about this, then email Yahoo and Google and seek profressional advice.

Usually adding content is always a good thing.

As far as changing content, you should probably only change spelling and grammatical errors.

Yes, agreed. Adding content, as opposed to chaning it, would minimize any risk of your site's ranking being interfeared with.

why you are rewriting those again . I will say you can update those information in new one . Like if you have mentioned how to make money from any site than now type new article and write few tips that how you can increase more earning from their . By this you can backlink your old article in last also by saying that if you have not read previous previous than go to this link .

Yeah, what I would do would be to add quality content in a prominent position, and still keep the old content, but bump it down a few notches ;)

If your site is already listed and you would like to provide more useful contents to your visitors, I think you should create a blog with the subdomain which can also help you in building links and traffic. :)

adding content has to be a good thing, i did read somewhere that if you keep adding new content to your website the more google spiders will hit your site. So i cant see it hurting in anyway.
