Rewrite rule for .htaccess, trying to wrap my head around it...

Hi guys, im basically looking to add redirect / rewrite rule

my site has canonical urls

ie: http://www.site.com/product1.html

http://www.site.com/category/product1.html

im basically looking to rewrite like this:

redirect any html file trying to be accessed through different sub directories redirected to http://www.site.com/product1.html

in other words

/*/product1.html -> /product1.html

can anyone help me out with regular expressions on this?

RewriteRule ^(.*)product1.html(.*)$ http://www.site.com/product1.html$2? [L]
