Rewrite clean permalinks with Lighttpd

    Hello, I have links with www.domain.com/index.php/postname

    When I try to edit the permalinks in wordpress to just have wwww.domain.com/postname all my links receive a 404 error. Can someone please advise me how to fix it so I can make it so the permalink only has the post name after the domain.

    I am using lxadmin and I have done a ton of googling and tried all the fixes but I must be doing something wrong because I cannot figure it out.

    lighttpd doesnt use .htaccess
