Revising Your Articles To Move Up in Ranking

Wanted to share something that I learned.

I have a vBulletin message board. I have a section on there where I posts pictures of women.

I noticed that I started getting ranked for some of those threads without really trying (no paragraphs or sentences written; just pictures posted). Every few days or so, I would go back to the thread and post another picture. Google moves me up again.

The process kept repeating until I got to the top for that particular keyword.

So, I learned that Google likes it when a page is constantly updated.

I applied the same concept to my regular articles. Every once in a while, I will go in and add a sentence or a picture.

Sure enough, Google moved me up a couple of spots.

Anyone else experience something like this?

Hi mysteryofmarketing, There is no doubt that Google loves fresh and updated quality content, in your case if you are adding and updating your content with pictures and text Why would Google hate to rank it? , In some cases it is random that you see some plus rankings for your updated content for a shorter period of time and then pages disappear, you better keep adding more fresh content to check the "Google Behaviour". I hope this works for your on permanent basis.

Google and other engines do indeed like 'fresh' content, which is why adding blog comments is such a popular way of getting the spiders to keep revisiting your pages. There are even automated tools for this (if you use wordpress), like the plugin from bloggerhigh, for example.

    Hi mate,

surely google get your site ranked higher than before.. maybe because the top 10 competitors being showed up on your result page..(I dont know exactly if #1 #2 or #3) don´t update regularly their content and as the regularly content updating is surely something that Google loves.. you have been rewarded in return.. just keep in mind that the most essential factor when it comes to getting ranked successfully.. are backlinks.. so if you consistently keep a seo strategy where you update your content and build more backlinks to your site.. thus.. your dominance for your keyword is guaranteed in the mid and long-run...

my suggestion is you keeping up.. remember the key for an admirable success is passion on what you are doing every day and a impregnable consistence.

Cheers and I sincerely hope you get to where you want in business..

    See u!!

Building back links is my weakness right now. It's something that I need to learn and improve on. I'm already pretty good at updating and creating fresh content. I think I'm pretty good at keyword density as well.

    It's a learning experience.
