I need a script (or a plugin for a CMS), that will aid me in making a reviews site. I will be reviewing movies, music, video games, etc. I would prefer something free, as Im not interested in spending a fortune! Thanks in advance!
jReviews is reasonably priced and the only script that I am considering at this time, but: It has very nice functionality, especially for the price. But I have a few concerns: 1) Joomla 1.5 is relatively new and very few users are using this platform. I have been checking around. 2) The version of jReviews that runs on native 1.5 is not yet available and it is going to be released in phases. 3) jReviews is partially encrypted and requires Ioncube. 4) There is only one developer behind this product. 5) Experienced and knowledgeable Joomla developers are scarce. 6) All of the parts make this solution complex and difficult to maintain/debug. So, it is an affordable solution with lots of risk. BTW, I am thinking about building a similar site. Good luck with your efforts! Rich
The new restaurant review script via a from built2go.com has flexible form fields to allow the review of any type of product, unlimited categories too, so basically all fields and labels can be changed. The design is also fully skinable via a vbulletin type of skin system: http://www.built2go.com
