Hello guys, I'm asking for your opinions because, obviously, I am reaching out to members of this forum to see if this concept will work. Basically, this is what I call a cloud transfer service. It is using my new technology which basically streams content anywhere across the internet (images, video, music, pdf) and approaches to millions of partners servers so speeds can be utilized to the highest extent, and of course, the environmental impact it will make as we can process content as it is received so no additional or off-site server power is necessary. It becomes a cache to objects across the internet, obviously the more popular the service becomes, the more valuable users will find this service. Example (my project codename is CUDDLE): "Let's say I wanted to import a MP3 from mediafire.com, I would go and grab the URL, send it via the API to CUDDLE and they would immediately send me a streaming URL. I would stream this content to my user in rapid speed, and as soon a full stream has been made it is automatically posted on to CUDDLE servers so it will become really fast for me to access - and if I wanted, it could post to my Amazon S3 account or my own server via FTP access." Pricing would be around these (minimum): - $0.005 per 1,000 requests (GET) - $0.50 per GB of transfer (first 1TB) - $0.40 per GB of transfer (after your 1TB) Remember, that means a majority of content you'll be able to access (request via where URL is located) and obviously, if we don't have it cached It would be integrated into a public API where developers can request for content to be imported and either placed into their Amazon S3 bucket, their server (via FTP), or accessible through our rapid cache. Costs will be lowered if they input all data into their Amazon S3 bucket or in their own FTP server. But, giving openess in this technology to letting people have the option to reduce the costs as much as they can, as we don't want to force them to do anything. We just want to improve the environmen and watch the web envision what we do. Why it would be good: - Plugs in an extremely high quality importer through URL - Very fast importer (even slow sites at maximum speed). - Content can be delivered at extremely high speeds - Gives more control to content - We can upload content via FTP to third party websites while content is being uploaded - Demanding content is consistently kept cached. - More environmentally friendly as we process requests during streams, so less server power is needed. Server usage is reduced by 75% and less servers are needed, and obviously, $0.50 per GB is just a rough estimate. If we do condone this project, we'll be able to lower prices as much as we can. Obviously, if we do condone this, we can easily strike contracts with large content delivery networks so you will be able to see this technology be rolled out worldwide within the next couple of months. This is a very demanding piece of technology (it's called RapidImport) and is only licensed to me in the world as I acquired the company back in 2006 - and now I have received offers as high as $x,xxx, xxxs for the technology (and there isn't even a market for it, yet) so I think it would be better if I made a great service as I am the only person who will be able to offer this service. So, I would definately like some people to either give me suggestions or help me envision my future of helping create a new market. Thank you.
not sure I am getting it.. your service is not new.. "content delivery" is there since internet day one.. company like akamai has been doing it for years.. CDN another.. if you can get the plumbing up and running .. sure there is a market.. a lot of video shareing upstart will need your service
