But realistically, does the small time blogger have any chance of getting a piece of the action at ReviewMe? With over 1000 blogs to choose from, what advertiser is going to go much beyond the first 100 highest quality blogs - or even the top 500 blogs?
I don't really see how this compares with PPP. With PPP yuo can steer the content your way, with RM you just get a review, not a plug of your choice.
True. But it will be far and few in between, right? I am just saying, because I had someone say to me "Wow - $20 per post! I will never do a PPP blog entry again!" At PPP, you select the opportunity. At ReviewMe, the opportunity chooses you. A BIG difference.
I feel a little out of loop here because honestly I don't know what PPP is, or maybe I just don't recognize the acronym...? Anyway I was kind of surprised to find that within just a week of being open, there were about 4-5 blogs that I could describe as extremely relevant to one of my niche sites.
Oooops! Sorry - PPP is www.PayPerPost.com At PPP the advertisers post their "jobs" or opportunities - the bloggers choose the jobs they wish to do. At ReviewMe the bloggers post their blogs - the advertisers choose the blogs they wish to "advertise" on. The point I was making to my friend is - having your blog on ReviewMe does not make for certain income - an advertiser may NEVER select your blog.
I think both are catering for different markets. PPP is never going to attract the quality of bloggers already on board with Reviewme. High quality bloggers are never going to accept money for a biased post like you can request with PPP.
Very nice review you have written. Plus I am so happy that reviewers are being paid higher rates. All of these article writers working for $1.50 or $3.00 dollars (USD) for 500 words are crazy. I am a copywriter but I don't accept a pay scale of a few dollars. I am shocked when I see others taking those jobs. I always wonder why they work so cheap? Either they are poor writers or mere kids looking for work. But, ReviewMe seems to be seeking quality with their pay scale. And, Feral Cat, your review is just that. Congrats! Nice Blogging kitty cat. Cheers to all.
Do you live in the United States by any chance and think your nation covers half the globe in surface area?
I just signed up and depending on the feedback I get on my review of ReviewMe, may decide to use it on my BlackBerry blog. The problem I see for ReviewMe is two fold. Their take, 50%, is quite high and leaves room for a copycat service to jump in and do the same thing offering Advertisers and Publishers alike a better take. Additionally, it wouldn't be too difficult for an advertiser to bypass the system and contact a publisher directly. If you want to get a review on a very popular blog, it could cost you $500. You know, however, that the publisher is only going to get $250. You could just cut the middle man out, contact the publisher directly and offer them $300-to $350 for the same review without even going through ReviewMe.
I recently blogged about my experience with PPP and I must say that I am getting to be more and more disappointed with this concept. The pay is low and the worst part is writing something and not getting it accepted because everything was fulfilled within one hour of the posting. Review Me should work out especially since it is comes by way of the advertiser's invitation.
Which you may never get. That is my point - PPP and ReviewMe are not comparable. ReviewMe is free advertising for bloggers - just because they "pay better" does not mean you will ever see any of that money (past the review post they are paying everyone for). I am not anti-ReviewMe, it just seems people think they are actually going to get paid $30 per post, when in actuality - those will be far and few in between. BUT - prove me wrong - let us know when you get a request for a post (not the initial ReviewMe post).
I got one within half an hour of signing up. Haven't got another one though. Maybe because I was a bit too honest in my post.
I am not saying that Review Me is perfect either. That is one reason why I plan on soliciting advertisers to my two busy PR4 blogs on my own.
