Reviewing old backup files

I'm trying to review old backup files, and I can open them locally. However, whenever I try to then connect to the server it has problems until I rename the folder that the old backups were in (the last instance I opened). Is there a way to keep this from happening?

No, FileMaker will automatically remember the last "MainMenu.fp5" file that was open, and where it was, and it will look there first.

One thing you can do is make a shortcut that opens directly to the server instead of the Open.fp5 file.

For example a shortcut to the following would work:

    FMP5://12.34.56.78/MainMenu.fp5

(with 12.34.56.78 being the IP address of your database server)
