It looks really good and is put together nicely. Just a few small things I would (personally) change: 1. Make the Header box the same width as the Body box to keep continuity. I think it's only on the homepage it does this. The rest of the pages seem lined up. 2. The background image to the website seems a bit 'random' compared to the rest of the website where it's nice and clean looking. You might want to try finding something that matches up a bit more. 3. Take out the "Enclosing asterisks marks text as bold (*word*) etc..." under the Author Registration form. You don't need it. 4. Make sure to realign the words that overflow under the Categories column. Other than that, it looks very nice! Keep up the good work.
You may want to take into consideration the overall width of your site. The advertisements on the right hand side are going to register impressions with google but they're not going to get you clicks for the majority of viewers. I'd re-optimize for 1024x768 to make sure most everyone can see your content and more importantly your ads. Alternate solution: Make sure your ads are on the left and some other menu/content is on the right.
The idea isn't original. Looks nice. I agree that the header box should be of the same size with the body
Nice busy looking site. Might consider a different background to at least match a color or two in the main body.
