I really like the colors, black and orange, very fit. And the subcategories as others said, they are many. But, since that is a requirement to your forum and you can't merge any more than that, give it a smaller font for your sub categories like DP used here, it will look more tidy.
The forum is very informative but the theme is bit dark and not very appealing.The header looks very simple and has lot of empty space.
