There are lots of general directories out there... and they all look more or less the same. Have more or less the same caterogies... albeit yours might be slightly quicker than most as it's pretty bare in terms of graphics, layout, etc. Have you thought of creating a directory geared towards a specific topic? Something new, fresh, exciting will attract lots of attention rather than YAD. Otherwise, as for the layout ... well I'm getting connection refused now so I can't look at the source. However, you might want to use div and css to make an interested layout. I personally find it nice when the index page of a directory is all on one screen so I can get an overview at one glance.
Make it more individual. Times New Roman, font size 12, with default link settings is definitely not going to set you apart from the pack. I do commend your organisation though, it's well done.
i see that "related sites website directory and search engine." repeatedly and i think it's not necessary... maybe u can consider removing it.. just a suggestion
your seach doesnt work on the website. nice logo though , you need to use css for your layout to give it a profeesional look.
