    So I signed up with Azoogle right, and went into my adwords account to create some ad groups and dive into the world of affiliate marketing.

    I'm promoting this product: http://x.azjmp.com/09lvP
    "The ScrapBook Club, the only book club exclusively for scrapbookers. Join and get 1 free book with the purchase of a 2nd book for $9.95 - Free Shipping and Handling and Free Gift. US and Canada Only Email, Search, Incentive & Web Traffic Accepted"
    It works by sending 14 newsletters out over the course of the year offering the latest books, DVDs etc to members. The initial payment of 10 bucks gets the buyer membership plus two advice books on scrapbooking.

    After turning off content-match, volume is pretty low, perhaps explaining why i haven't seen any clicks yet. But I'm wondering if my ad copy is good to begin with, so let me hear your thoughts.

    My ads for the keyword scrapbook magazine and variants:

    {KeyWord:Scrapbook Magazine}
    Join the Scrapbook Club Online! Buy
    a book, get 1 free! $9.95, Free S&H
    Pizard.com/ScrapbookMagazine

    {KeyWord:Scrapbook Magazine}
    Join the Scrapbook Club Online! How
    to books w a new membership. $9.95
    Pizard.com/ScrapbookMagazine

    {KeyWord:Scrapbook Magazine}
    Join the Scrapbook Club Online! Buy
    a book, get 1 free! $9.95, Free S&H
    Pizard.com/ScrapbookMagazine
    (Destination url is different from #1. One goes to pizard and forwards to the azoogle url (if the url exists on your site, apparently the QS is better? Trying to get that by the pizard destination) , the other goes directly to azoogle's link. Will this succeed in improving the QS? Or am I just increasing loading time for nothing?)

    Ad copy looks fine assuming your keywords are a good fit for the {KeyWord} title.

    I did have to read this one a few times though before it made sense:

    {KeyWord:Scrapbook Magazine}
    Join the Scrapbook Club Online! How
    to books w a new membership. $9.95
    Pizard.com/ScrapbookMagazine

    Maybe it'll work though.

    I'm guessing you mean the keywords on the landing page? It's for a monthly club, so it kind of relates to the subscription model. Practically speaking, the landing page ain't great, but that's beyond my control, at the very least until I build Pizard into a home for landing pages and offers I promote.

    Thanks for mentioning that problem with the logic. How do you think it could be made clearer? These damn 35 characters are impossible!

    I'd agree that your advert copy is fine - just keep making alternative ads and testing, testing, testing to find those that perform best for you.

    With regards to your landing page, Am I right in thinking that Pizard.com/ScrapbookMagazine redirects straight to the Azoogle landing page? If so, then having the url on your domain won't help quality score as Google can identify that you're just redirecting. You would likely be better off writing your own sales page to pre-sell the product, before you send visitors off to Azoogle to order.

    HTH.

    No, I meant the keywords your bidding on in those ad groups. Since your using {KeyWord} those keywords may be displayed as the ad title so you'll want to make sure they "fit" with the rest of the ad.

    Thanks for the advice Taulauth and Chicago guy! I really appreciate you sharing your time and expertise.
    If I write a pre-sell page, don't I risk some of the clicks not clicking a second time? If so, is it worth it for the trade-off in a higher conversion rate? My problem is that I know jack-squat about writing html/css other than the basics I need for SEO. After writing html head body, I'm not sure how I'd go about making a background with graphics and then designing the rest of it. Any suggestions?

    Thanks for explaining the quality score thing by the way.

    Chicago guy, you've got a good point about the fit. I've tried to do it with different ads, but it's hard when you're pitching something not directly related. Like, if it was a campaign for an e-commerce store, it'd be easier, because there would be products to match the searches..

    Speaking of matching, what do you guys make of this: I looked up the scrapbooking slang and am making ads around that. They're something like "serious scrapbooker into {keyword:slang}?
    join the club...

    The issue is that with some of the keywords, the title will exceed 25 characters. Is that possible? What would happen in that case?

    By the way, got my first two clicks today :). No conversions, but it's nice to see the 0 change in the adwords account, you know?
