This is my sons computer gaming forum. The domain name is 8 months old and the site was opened in July of 2008. At first the site was built with mambo, but a few weeks later changed to mkportal. I did not like that either so I changed the home page to wordpress. The home page has been running wordpress since October 2008. The forum has been running SMF since July, 2008. In January 2009 I moved the forum over to VBulletin - all of the post and threads were retained. Both wordpress and VBulletin submit a sitemap every day to google. The site has around 2,400 backlinks shown in google webmaster tools. And around 9,000 - 10,000 backlinks in yahoo site explorer. The backlinks use targeted keywords for all different types of games. The backlinks point mostly towards the forum, but a few hundred point towards the home page. So why can't I get this site to rank well?

The title tag for the forums seems off: Forums on Console and Computer Games - First Person Shooter Zone That first part doesn't make sense. Also Computer Games and Console Games are going to be tough keywords to get ranked for. I would try and narrow down your keywords a bit more to help yourself get ranked.
