Site is only a week or two old. It is the first of 5 blogs I plan to build. This one is my hobby and passion, so it is gonna be easy to blog about it. I need a critique from the user experience to the ads to the seo... The good and the bad... Thanks TrainingBJJ.com
Design-wise the site looks good. A couple of things that you could improve though - Get a couple more keywords in the page title of your homepage I normally have the homepage as a static page and not just showing the latest blog posts. You can then optimise the text for certain keywords
Just got your PM. Are you using Wordpress? If so I can tell you how to make the homepage static. With it's current setting, the homepage just displays your recent posts, which will contain a mixture of keywords and topics. By having a static page you can ensure that the content is always optimised for the keywords you are targetting.
Yes, wordpress...If I make the page static, wouldn't I have less content on my home page? At this point I would have none, quite frankly...but yes I understand what you are saying and any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Just write a new page of content and set it as the homepage. Something along the lines of 'Welcome to xxxxxx
Gotcha, but then I would have to add some sort of "latest posts" section or something like that to get them "into" the site correct?
You need some kind of logo . It looks empty and the ads and the right menu make me feel that I'm just squeezed in to buy something . The content will need some formating as well . Right now it looks like a badly executed ad .
My first thought is too many ads - I'd have thought your bounce rate is likely to be quite high - especially with that banner ad floating in the header are, just a bit too much I'd say personally. Less is more, sometimes. I agree with other replies, that it would benefit from a header logo. The more you can do to fill visitors with confidence that they've reached a site which is likely to be relevant for what they're searching for - the better, and also, the less a site just looks like a blog full of ads, the better also. If it were me, I would strip out all banner ads, and just focus attentions on the affiliate link within each post. Cheers Kev
Thanks for the advice so far...and I know I am lacking a logo, I am just not sure what to do abou a logo...don't want to pay for a logo right now...so I am trying to think of different solutions.
Great, i like. Now i couldn't post. everyone, could you view my site also? and give me some advise. thank you all in advance
Nice site, but I never like so much white color. Maybe you could try playing with the background color a little and see how it looks.
Design is looking good you should add more content to your site to make it more attractive and add more images
Any suggestions on a subtle background color that still makes the black text stand out and goes with the red I have chosen? Yes, you are right. I am just hesistant to add "filler" images for no reason. And the content, I am slowly adding day by day. any suggestions would be great...
