Its really a quick question, but do you suppose a review site that does reviews of many different products would back fire? I have this hunch like it would be disappointing for SEO.

I've seen a lot of people create these kinds of content based sites, but I wonder how affective they are??

I would also think that one would have to take the time to really think the link order through.

yes ... because it woudln't be focussed enough ... if google has to decide between a page for "widget miracles" on a site that's all about widgets, versus picking a page for "widget miracles" on a site that's about forex, dating, seo ...

well, all other things being equal, the focussed site will win ....

I disagree, Unless you are targeting a product name as your keyword.

It depends on how you have structured the site layout and seo'ed the pages. if you are reviewing 3 products, you should have 3 separate pages for each product and a summary page which includes details of all 3 products.

Ex:If I have a site in which I have 10 articles and have a review section, in which I review the top products in that niche, my readers would definitely find that helpful and i have a better chance of conversion too(from the 3 products).

Well, I already have one product that sports a lot of article pages about it, that target the specific features and uses of it. The main page at the moment acts as table of contents for the articles, but what I would like to do is create a very nice looking front page, and then put the names of the products in the side bar as links to different parts of the site, which will feature many pages about each product, and they will be like a mini site within a main site.

Then I would do a little on board SEO for the main page with all the important info, like maybe an about page, and things that could promote the site as a whole - is this approach a bad idea?

Is there too much promotion of the products, and the site itself?

From the test of thousands of affiliates... if you promote more than 3 products on the same review page forget conversions. And obviously if you are reviewing a product about keyword research you are not going to review a article spinner on the same page.

I see - makes sense, but I am interested in promoting many products that are related to a pretty specific niche, i.e. - a sub niche of a specific niche - I think that would work better. I mean its basically like any niche blog, only in this case its not a blog.
