I got some great and usable feedback here for www.baneworld.com, now I'm hoping you'll be kind enough to provide some feedback on our newest site www.starpirates.net.
looks pretty good but the links on the left begin on the pipe and maybe should be moved slightly to the right I am using IE7 Not sure if its set up yet but forum button doesn't open anything
Thanks - we'll look at getting the text moved over a notch. Forum: the DNS has not yet fully propagated across the Internet as the domain migrated at 3 pm EST today; the forum link works but a server/connection will sometimes 'point' to the old server until the DNS fully propagates over the next 2 days.
This looks a bit like a 90s handheld console video game. All the images are very pixelated and the whole website is aligned left which makes it seem like you don't support larger browsers. The entire site looks like its stuck in the stone age. Unless this is what you were trying to achieve, I would update the theme a bit. Also, you might want to rethink the highly repetitive and crass background image. It doesn't help. But the functionality is great!
Joneagle_X - that is in fact the look we're going for. I'll chat with the other two guys about the background.
We are thinking of upgrading just the ship pictures - I'm concerned that could interfere with our retro look? mmiksik, sydneyaus - can I ask your opinion (if you have time)?
I took all of your suggestions into account; we've modified the game look/feel (though you'll likely need to refresh the cache to see it). We kept true to the retro feel but slanted it towards a gritty graphic novel of that time period.
I feel like the home page could be used better to promote the game. Maybe a list of highlights of the game.. for example in really small text at the bottom it says "955 total Space Pirates", why is the text so small? Letting new players know there is a solid player base is a big plus, I would make it bigger and somewhere easier to read.
Thanks bane, we'll work on that (we've applied the counts to the front). Thanks much! It's definitely true there's a solid player base - we're growing at about 100 players a day. We'll make sure that gets attention.
