The site in question: http://www.palsys.ca We redesigned late last year and the improvement is huge. I still find myself looking at the design and thinking that it's missing something as far as the look goes, and of course functionality can always be improved. Looking for comments, criticism, complaints...anything that comes to mind really!
For your bar ontop, I would make it all one gradient vertically instead of circles everywhere. For your icons, I would use more updated ones (there are free ones that you can use at yellowicon.com) P.S: The logo looks great
The network bar is different every week, we try to keep the look fresh I'm looking into new icons now, I think that's a great idea. The logo is the one constant, since 1999...glad you like it!
Thoughts: - Agree about the icons, particularly the oddly colored CD - The dropdowns at the very top are distracting to a new user, but if they make sense for your existing client base them keep them. - News looks out of place. Color scheme almost makes it look like Google Adsense ads. Maybe put a border around the news, or change background to blue, or just put "Recent News" in bold at the top of the news section - Font seems a little small for the front page of a corporate site. I'd up it by at least .5 em or so. Hope this helps, Anita (BTW - otherwise it looks like a great site, and the logo really is awesome)
The front page is kind of bare with too much white spaces at the bottom. I like the design though, specially the menu links though the site is slow-loading in my end.
Thanks for the suggestions! I've changed the icons, moved the news to the main page (removing the open white space and fixing the ugly news problem in the sidebar. I'm also looking into using a small image to round the top and bottom of the left menu to have it fit more with the curvy design. Seriously everyone, thanks for the input, I've been meaning to clean up the design for a while now!
