Hello, This is the review on some content discovery platforms that I've shared on other forums and which had a good feedback from the readers. Please share your experience and feel free to add to it, too. 1. Nster New guys on the block - if you need highly targeted audience then this is the place for you to start. They will get your content in front of vast number of relevant websites. Good part about Nster is that you can either do exchange or you can buy clicks. Exchange rates are surprisingly good - it's at least 120%, but having quality content you'll be getting more than that. Traffic quality is good - you have different geographical and category filters to use. Another thing is that Nster widget is completely customizable, which means that you can make it look like a part of your website. Last but not least, is the content rotation tool - if you have traffic but your bounce rate is skyrocketing, you can set up their plug in to show your most popular articles and keep people read some more. 2. Nrelate Used to be decent company (before Ask acquired it) Nrelate is also helping to increase PPV (but they only talk about 5%-12% increase which is not considerable effect) Right now, Nrelate shows decent result if you have substantial budget to buy traffic, and your website is in "Arts & Entertainment" section where they have large number of impressions. Traffic quality is good - no bots, no extreme bouncing. Their widget looks good - neat and simple. There are plenty of themes you can pick from, but there is no way you for entire customization (Or I haven't found one). Pay-per-click rates are fairly low, and there is no skyrocketing commission like in Outbrain. Another thing that other people report is that shortcode inserts in-line styling no matter which way you use it. 3. Linkwithin If you're the cook - this place is for you. Just kidding - it's just their website is filled with all this baked stuff! There is one important note that you have to understand when dealing with Linkwithin. It considers other posts in your database based on context: keywords, tags, categories and titles and makes a set of up to five posts that are similar to the original post. It then generates a thumbnail image for each post and displays them along the bottom of the post. So be careful when assigning meta tags and description so they will not mess up Linkwithin's algorithm. Big ache about Linkwithin, is that their widget is blog-oriented (I couldn't get it running on my websites). Customization is also giving some troubles, since it's limited to text editing. Last but not least - you have to have at least 30 posts in order to make it work. Since you don't really have any editorial control over what goes on widget's display, you content has to be rounding around around certain topic, otherwise your widget will end with random recommendations. 4. Zemanta Free to use - which is good. Has quite a few blogs in its network - even though its nowhere close to 300k+ as they claim. Widget is simple, as well as it's embedding into blog. Couldn't figure out how to get it working on the website though, and their support is silent. Widget allows: - Adding your own sources e.g. RSS feeds from Google reader - Adding blogs you contribute to - Select preferred image aligning Huge con is that there are not enough news to generate any substantial amount of traffic, so using Zemanta alone will not be enough. This being said, don't be discouraged if you don't get the expected result right away - everything takes time and content marketing is number 1 on this list. Happy advertising!
Relevant targeted ads is the best thing because that's what will make you the most money adn get more clicks, especially if you're not in a targeted niche.
Nster does not look good atm. Looking at their site I see a lot of broken images and no info about advertisers. Are you still using them?
