Review of SUexchange.com Service

About a week ago I signed up to the stumble exchange service - suexchange.com. I'm a massive fan of stumble traffic - get a reasonable amount naturally to some sites - and just wanted to see if I couldd give it a kick along.

I registered on the site - added one of my websites and started exploring.

Basically - you get given a random list of registered sites - you click stumble (which opens up the page) you click I like it. At that point - you return to the page and claim it by posting - I stumbled it or something similar.

The site owner is then meant to verify your stumble and when they agree that it occurred they click "point" and you have a point added to your account. They have a point taken away until they verify it.

The idea is that the number of points you receive determines how many simultaneous stumbles you can receive (due to the fact that you are taken out of the system when you have no more points left)

It's an interesting system if somewhat clumsily executed (not the most intuitive interface) but I have noticed that after the initial peak of reciprocal stumbles nothing seems to happen.

For me its a reflection of the basic flaw in the site design - which is that once you've stumbled a few other people's sites - you accumulate enough points to be able to sit back and "float" (just let other people stumble you.

There's no incentive built into the system to encourage ongoing participation.

So to sum up - interesting concept - but perhaps it could do with a little bit more fiddling with the model before it's truly perfect.

    Dylan

P.S Apologies - that's rather a long-winded post for such a conclusion - but thought I would share in case it helps someone else out.

I like the site, except that the fact that I get a ton of people claiming they stumbled me when they didn't, but I have to accept them anyway otherwise I am out 1 point (1 stumble).
