Hi Everyone, I'm fairly new here at Digital Point, but wished to share with you my experience attempting to get a merchant account with MSI Canada. I had submitted a request for a proposal about a month and a half back, a day later I received a call from one of their representatives, whom I shall not name. Pleasent guy, offered me a fair bit of information and an attractive discount rate. I weighed my options and despite just spending $50 that afternoon with 2Checkout.com, I decided over the long run it would be worth my while to pursue his offer. Now, I should mention that I operate an Adult Toy store. Despite it being Female-Friendly (no nudity), we're typically considered high risk. He, however assured me that there was no problem with our products and that I should go and open a business account with my bank. Fast forward a couple of weeks, multiple hoops being jumped through, faxes sent, time spent, expenses increased and I receive a call from their underwritter asking about our phone number and mentioned that we were listed as a restaurant.....odd....I never stated, wrote, or mentioned that I operated any such business. I was then informed that I would be contacted by my account manager. Panicked, I called, left a message, few hours later sent an email, next day called again, and so on and so forth for about a week and a half. Today, I decided, given my account manager was clearly avoiding me, to call their support line and was basically told that I had been declined. I think its fairly obvious that this particular salesperson tried to sneak me under the radar to his underwritters and when they called BS decided to cut his losses and hope I went away. Had I not called their support, to this day I wouldn't know what was going on. To add insult to injury, I called their customer service and was told that he had no idea why I had been declined and that he didn't much care about the level of service they gave to their clients and that "this is common practice by our commissioned sales people". Long story short, awful experience and I'd never suggest doing business with them.
