Please take a look at my website www.RetailHomeGoods.com and let me know what you think I can do to improve it. I know that I need to get links but any other feedback would be appreciated. Thanks. Jim
The site layout is OK, just a bit bare. Get yourself a logo designed that includes something relevant about your website (99designs.com is a good place to get that). I think you should have at least double the amount of featured products on the homepage, but without the long descriptions. Show us the short title to get us interested and clicking - then I'll get the specifics. Change the colour of the navigation links, grey on grey doesn't work. Black text would look better, with maybe a white rollover. You have the price of the products on the catagory pages, so why not include an add to cart button on that page too. At the moment, visiting the specific product pages is fairly pointless as I already have the information. It's not entirely obvious that I have to click the picture to get to another page before I have to click another button if I want to buy the product. Lastly, a little more colour probably wouldn't go a miss. You could get away with using the blue that runs across the top of the page at the top of each table (ie where the 'featured products' heading is). Hope that helps.
Got to agree with the others. Boring logo. Something could be done to spice it up, maybe something like: (PM Me if you want the PSD, Don't worry it's free )
Quite the variety of featured products: RAP4 M4 Blue Rifle Paint Ball Gun, Solid Maple Pool Table, Cremation Urns and Air Purifiers. Definitely need work on the logo, or lack there of. Some of the pages, like the featured Pool Table is a little off. The image is big, which isn't necessarily bad, but the description text is very narrow to the far right and runs awkwardly way down the page in a thin column.
I agree with what has been said so far, the logo, the template, and the color scheme could be improved. I think you should get a different template for the site, add some more colors into the color scheme and change the grey text in your navigation so it's not grey on grey.
Having the new logo is already an improvement, but you definitely need to do the other things everyone has mentioned. Black text on the grey navigation would work fine.
We've implemented many of the recommended changes. Please take a look and let us know if we are moving in the right direction. Thanks. www.RetailHomeGoods.com
