I bought one of their vps packages a few months ago. I did not know anyhting about vps so ran into trouble trying to set up vps so asked for help. Pat came the reply that "why i bought vps if I am clueless....LOL " it is unmanaged and we dont offer support. Fine Hired somebody to do it and got it going. Within a week site became offline. Opened up a ticket. Was told to empty disk space. I had only used up 2 Gb out of some 25 so asked them how can that be. No help was provided. Found out that one of the folder was getting full of temp files so needed clearing every 4/5 days. Bravo. (Never had or has that problem with any other web host) The server started going down 2-3 times every week. Opened up support ticket. Was told rudely to check at their notice board...they cant bother to inform users. Then finally their server went out completly for 4 days. Was informed that they are trying to move it to a better platform. On 5th day was told that migration is complete. Site was still offline. Asked them why and was told that I need to update DNS myself...they can't be bothered. Got sick and tired of their disgusting attitude and decided to migrate the site elsewhere. Do not have a single problem with other host in past 6 weeks. I have worked with several web hosts in past 11 years.....hostlatch is most terrible webhost I have come across and this guy Adam of Hostlatch is the rudest person in the web hosting that I have had the misfortune to work with. PS Once i posted in one of his threads that server is offline too often...why it can to be fixed. Was told in support ticket that they will not support me till I remove the offensive posting.
Before i got my dedicated server, i was host by Hostlatch ( alias: Offshoregod ) The support was horrible, and also one day i wake up and i saw that my website, all my files have been deleted!! I have open a ticket to ask them what happened, they told me that they have been hacked and that they are unable to restore the files And the best, on their website before, it was noted that a daily backup is done Anyway, i don't recommended hostlatch ( alias : offshoregod to nobody )
This is obvious if they are an unmanaged provider. It depends on how big the tmp directory is. This issue won't happen on shared hosting, but it will happen whenever you have your own OS. what was the downtime due to ? Did you receive any compensation for it ? Well, if they were moving away from HyperVM , that is a good thing. But it should not take 4-5 days & there was no reason to change IP unless they changed the server. Can you tell us who is your new host ? This will help all DP members Also, this is not correct forum to post reviews, you should post them here - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=122 http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=103 Ishan
If you are using Kloxo go to Domains Defaults > tick on Remove Process Logs > Update You need to remove the log files inside /home/admin/__processed_stats as this is the log file for you awstat of which you dont need this files at all.
