Review of my Article Support Forum

Please review our support forum --> Article Depot Support

We are looking for a review based on functionality. If you needed to ask a question, would you find the Category you were looking for? Any you would add or combine.

    How about the Marketplace?

We are not so much looking for a review on design although any suggestions will be taken on board. We've removed the sessions for the Major SE's while still allowing guests to post. We won't be SEOing it a whole lot more though as the focus is on supporting Article Depot

    Cheers

    I was just curious..

The main thing I notice that I think could be useful - a legal section. copyright law, copying snippets, how to track stolen content. I figure these will be common questions and discussions.

A few points that sprung to mind:

An articles wanted section could be beneficial.

Where would you expect members to ask “Why was my article rejected?”

A large percentage of people submitting articles will be doing it for links so why not add a link exchange forum in the MarketPlace (you missed a space in MarketPlace or bad capitalisation)

I’m not sure about having a Suggestions and Forum Suggestions forum, may make more sense to combine them to prevent confusion.

I’d be tempted to add a general chat forum beneath introduce yourselves, or is that Everything Else

Thats a nice point and I had originally meant to add a Legal Issues section. Thanks for the reminder. I chose phpBB only because its meant as more of a resource for submitters and I am not looking to turn it into a huge forum. Just try to cut down on the emailed questions and give a 24 hour answer. The updating part is something I'm always on top of.

I do have an Everything Else which I hesitated to put up only because I didn't want it to take over. I may rethink that if there is a need but I want the majority of questions in peoples "New Posts" to be related.

I will be adding a Category to handle "Why was my Article rejected?"

Thanks for the suggestions so far :D

why on earth did you add a forum?

its really distracting from the whole concept of your site...why not just have a questions form to submit?

Lol - I already responded but here is my response in case others have the same questions:
You can use regular html anchor text...ie <a href=" "

Most people do, in addition to Article Depot if you also submit to goarticles.com and ezinearticles.com, you will be covering 95% of the market. The rest have so little traffic and distribution it isn't worth it.

You will although we don't have any stats. We will soon be adding RSS feeds which will mean instant distribution. We have a partnership with a few other sites so you will get at least a few additional links but most likely more.

Lol..I was working remotely last night updating our index page and put his old url back in. This has now been fixed. Thanks for the heads up

We will soon have a completely new design

ysf1, why not put a detailed list of FAQ in the forums or a link in the forum to a detailed FAQ. Something with all of the how's and whys.

Other then that. It looks pretty good to me.

We will soon have a fully comprehensive FAQ and question form but we still get a lot of questions about hiring people to write articles for them, SEO Benefits, and many more things that can't be handled by a private and static FAQ. Instead people are looking for added benefits like a community that can answer Article related questions.
