If someone has the time would they take a look at the site in my signature and give me some opinions on why it is not achieving better page rank. The site went online in December 2009, achieved Page Rank 1 around March or April, and it has not changed since then. The page has several thousand back links of various types, directories, forums, similar sites, blog postings, a couple of articles but the majority are likely directories. The content is original but there are other sites on the same subject so some material could sound repetitious, but it is original nonetheless. A good part of the content is unique to this site only. The site is, and has been updated on a fairly regular basis and is laid out in an easy to navigate format. It has a forum that is reasonably active, with 158 members and there are few outgoing links. My position in the SERP’s has, at times, been number 3 on page one for the best keywords, but for the past couple of months it has floated between page 2 and 3. For some keywords I’m still on page one. So, why has this site not achieved a bit better page rank and better SERP? Any thoughts?
I'm just looking for opinions. Really not too concerned about it, traffic is not bad and enough to keep me busy right now, but was curious why it is not higher.
Just keep your seo work on specially the off-site seo work focusing on your main keyword. These fluctuation can happen in google search engine as they are often seen to change their algorithm.Dont worry just do these work with posting unique content and I hope you will regain your previous position.
Thanks shuvo, that's pretty much what I plan to do. Not doing any marketing with it right now anyway, though I may in the future right now I just want to run the site for its own sake and prehaps even help a few people.
Hi, Not any shortcut to improve page rank in search engine only quality content and quality back links improve website page rank in search engine. So do SEO off page regular with your targeting anchor text.
Thats what I'm trying to do and have discovered that quality backlinks on a related page in this niche are few and far between. I've back-off on directory submission and try not to submit only to those with a bit of page rank. Have been doing a lot of medical blog commenting lately which can get a lot of backlinks quickly and many are very good pagerank. Even though I add a comment that I believe adds to the subject I've found that in order to get them posted you cannot use the best anchor text-such as the website title-and with most I'm forced to use a first name.
