I think you did a good job. The ads aren't obstructive, the colors are alright together, the plugins are nicely placed.

I'd add some more graphics in there though. It's all text, you know? Throw at least something small by your logo. Make it stand out from all the other directories out there.

Also, change your favicon from the WordPress one to something else.

I would personally improve the header. You could change the colour and/or you could create a custom header with a logo.

 

pretty straight forward directory design, well do. i'd like to say the footer can be improved.

 

The overall design looks great but I think I have found a small bug. The text in the right hand menu is hanging over the edge of the margin.

It needs some sort of adjustment. A few minor changes and it will be perfect.
