I am still building out the site with more infrastructure content first. if I eventually can get admission into Google News, I will only mark news worthy posts as category featured. I have authors/editors listed in "About Us" page. If you care to take a look the site is a .com Natural Healing Health News (all one word). Thanks!
Hi mate. Your site feels very earthy and news orientated, both of which I like. Not too much content but enough to keep me engaged, again I like. However there is lack of branding, also feels like a 90s cartoon commercial for weight loss, cluttered and not spaced out enough. All the content is so close and tight. For me personally, that's a bit of a turn off. Also you need to get yourself a favicon. As for the slider, you need to customize it and let the users know that the images underneath take them to the next slide, right now it just feels too basic and out of the box. Also the images are kind of disgusting, but it didn't not work either. They were just repulsive enough to spike my interest. I'm not sure on the other hand though, if users actually click through to uninviting/yucky looking images. Again, doesn't not work, but just something to think about. Like you said, you're still building and it's definitely getting there! Those are just a few of the key things I like and hopefully also pointing out, quite honestly, a few things I don't like may help you get a perspective on what others may be thinking. Either way, best of luck getting it onto Google News
No worries mate, I notice the sooner you get favicons up, the sooner they start getting better hit stats/percentages. After I made a proper favicon using this guide, my hit percentage improved 10 fold compared to the basic favicon I made before realising you could indeed have it in more than the one size of 16x16px. Hopefully it may be of some help to you http://catalyst.net.nz/tutorial/creating-a-multi-resolution-favicon
Very nice although it does look a bit cluttered. Some more white space would be nice. I would also recommend using less header menu items to stop it going onto 2 lines.
