Just recently updated the template for my website Kitchen Garden Today. If you like it (GREAT!) or even hate it (please post what you think should be fixed/changed), would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Sean
wow i like it, the layout, the amount of space between content, pictures, colors A+ though you might want to add a search button beside the input box, its more intuitive that way, not everyone knows pressing enter works and sometimes that is diabled
Thank you for the suggestion, I will look at adding that in. Just trying to keep the look as clean as possible.
Nice site, but I would really consider adding a forum. There are several forums that will plug straight into joomla. You are using joomla on your site, arent you? Consider adding an amazon store portal. That way you can sell items straight from your site. You have a good nitch market and a nice site. At the end of the articles you could provide a link to books about your sites nitch. Example: At the end of this article is a single ad - http://www.kitchengardentoday.com/a...den/187-hydroponics-are-chemicals-needed.html You could put a link at the bottom of the page going to your forum or an amazon product link, or maybe even some google banners from your adsense account. When the reader hits the bottom of the article, give them somewhere to go from there. The amazon store and a forum are the only things I would change. As I look through the site, I am wanting more information, and its just not there. Your "How To" section has one article? And the Green Bag section has no articles?
We've got some more content to add to the How-To and Green Bag sections. Since we've only been up a short time, we're still developing content also. There are really sections for content (Articles and Blog) Blog Section - Is where we post our daily content, daily information on our Aerogarden's and other products we are using. Article Section - Is more for detailed articles dealing with particular subject(s) in-depth. We have taken a look at the Amazon store setup, and now looking at this layout it could function very well within.
I like the overall design of the site. Somewhat web2.0 feel. The only thing I noticeably don't like is the font of KitchenGardenToday. It just rubs me the wrong way I feel like. I'd change it to a block style font instead of the script/stroke style (not sure of the correct term). I'd give the overall site about a 8 good work
I appreciate the comment and honesty jteusa. We've talked about the font, and with the type of people we are focusing and marketing towards, we feel that the font isn't really any issue.
