Review My Webmaster Blog

I just now started a blog, where I am going to be writing about a lot of the things I learned as I get more experienced as a webmaster. I kind of got this together real quick, but let me know what you think. Feel free to leave comments on any of the articles as well. And be as critical as you want to, its what helps me improve.

I will probably get a domain name tomorrow (well, today I guess, since its 3 am, lol), but I haven't decided if I like the name or not, so I'm just going with that subdomain for now. Feedback on the name is also welcome.

Yeah, I'm not exactly great at designing banners. I might need to find someone else to do that for me. Thanks.

 

ya, the content and theme are great, but you should put some graphics and banners in it. And you may even want to monetize it later by integrating ads blocks and adsense.

 

Ok, I will be sure to look into that.

And for right now I'm not going to try and monetize it. I want to get some subscribers and get it a decent numbers of readers first. I do have some affiliate links in the posts, so maybe I'll get lucky with those, but making money isn't really my goal at this point.

And do you think it is necessary for me to get my blog its own domain name? I've noticed that by using a subdomain of my main site (even though they aren't related whatsoever), I have a little advantage in a lot of the rankings (ex: my alexa rating is starting off at 450k...keeping it as a subdomain will help the ranking for both sites).

alright, I will get to work on trying to incorporate some graphics. I'm terrible with graphics, but I'll see what I can come up with.

 

change graphics on the right side of the header. The search field and the button. Optimize links to be more SEO friendly.

 

Ok, so you think it would be ok for now if I replaced the search function with a graphics of some sort? And I optimized the links, that was pretty easy, thanks for that suggestion.

I changed the theme and put some ads on there. Still no graphics yet, but how is the ad placement?

Yes, as I'm said, I'm aware of that. I've sent an email to a friend of mine who is good at designing headers and will probably give me a really good price, and I'm hoping he will be able to work on it for me. I'm just being patient for now.
