I run a blog/forum/wiki/photo gallery about a 100-year old summer camp in northern indiana called Culver Military Academy Summer Camp. What do you guys think of the layouts?

    Front page
    Single Blog Post View

    Forum Index
    Photo Gallery

    Wiki "Culverpedia"

I'm looking for general feedback on usability, readability, ad blending, emotional impression upon seeing the page etc etc. I would really appreciate it and would be happy to review someone else's site in exchange for some thought out words. Include a link at the end of your review and I'll get right to it!

front page is tooo clustered, the images are confusing because of their clashing colours and placement

also you should try to make your logo a little more professional

    :)

so would you suggest pulling the large "Featured" story image out off the front page altogether and just having the blog ride all the way up to the top below the nav bar?

Are there too many links on the nav bar? I was kind of going by what I was seeing on myspace.

And the logo, is it just too simple? You're talking about the navy blue "Go CulvEr.com" with the red E right? I was trying to use text instead of a jpeg or gif there.

I liked it. If I were interested and had personal interest in the camp I would really feel like there was alot there to read. The pictures are flashing when I roll over them and I couldn't tell what was doing that. The videos will be great. Maybe just be real careful that your navigation is very clear. I thought the look was crisp and professional.

    Why is the E highlighted?
It looks a bit camp in the old english sense.
Having a wiki is a nice feature.

Front page Single and Blog Post View don’t display properly with Opera. The links on top get all messed up. The other sites look ok.

    Hi

    1) post view page is good idea.
    2) your font page is little wide, this days no one like going left to right to see all page. You should make or fit it to screen.

    Thanks for the tips everyone.

    Question on width:

I went with the same width as the New York Times' new site with the asumption that 800px widths are on the way out. Is that not a fair assumption you think?

Also, are there any websites that would take Opera Snapshots of my site so I can get a look at it in that browser? I know there are sites that do that for safari...
