hi, I've had this weight loss blog up for some time, but only decided to go into email marketing seriously just awhile ago, and I want to know if my squeeze page looks okay: Weight Loss EBook Squeeze Page Thanks for any suggestions!
Personally I think there is far too much going on for it to be an effective squeeze page - there are too many ways for potential customers to leave your site and GET RID of that word guru. Nobody is going to believe that you are one, especially a self proclaimed one, and will just click away from your site.
I've been building a number of backlinks back to my current website address, I think getting rid of the name now will harm my SERPS pretty badly.. so i don't think that's a solution! hmm. i purposely got into a place with black background to film it, so generally filming in a very well lighted place is better? if so i will film it again
I'm not saying that you should remove it from your url, just get it off the page. All it does is scream at the reader "Hey, look at me, I've got a hugely inflated opinion of myself." When I looked you up, you only had 21 backlinks anyway, so just use a few different keywords, spice up your linking and get converting your prospects to customers.
So in general it looks fine? And that I should start driving more traffic to it through SEO and other means... Or is there still some big problems with the squeeze page itself? I decided not to make it too complicated since its only for a free gift, and not asking visitors to buy stuff
There are still far too many ways for people to leave it. Get rid of the facebook stuff, get rid of the related posts, get rid of the commenting facility, get rid of the adsense, get rid of the social bookmarking buttons, get rid of the "Who is Alvin", get rid of the blog post archive, get rid of the links to other pages and then tidy up the horribly cluttered text above the video (and get rid of that too, or at least don't link it to you tube) and finally you will have something like a squeeze page. At the moment it is just another page on your blog. Why not use a completely stand alone page for your squeeze? Every time you offer a visitor a way to leave your page before signing up to your list, you are just wasting your time and the chance to make some money. Think about it, what would you rather have $0.05 from adsense or somebody signed up to your list that you can market to forever. Take a look at this http://wordpresssqueezepage.info/ - I am not suggesting you buy it (I am not an affiliate) but it is a clean, uncluttered page that calls the viewer to action. Get some ideas from it.
oh okay, so you're suggesting I get a totally separate squeeze page! Hm. i will consider doing that thanks
