hey all, let me know what you think of my new soccer site for girls: Girl Soccer it's been 3 weeks since I submitted it to search Engines and still it doesn't rank on google or yahoo so I wonder what could be the problem.
Guess I'll be the first one. LOL. It appears you have the character ' in your title and I don't believe google will accept that. You should look at other top websites to see how they word their meta titles, descriptions and keywords however, your keywords looked good. Generally it isn't a good practice to have your URL as the title but the NAME of the website. You'll see what I mean if you look. As far as google coming to rank the site, it doesn't just happen as it is like creating a shoe store on the corner and not running an ad so people don't know you're there so you need to find a way to let google know you're there. There are a couple of ways you can do this. You can purchase a text link on the front page of a 'harmonious content' website which is enjoying a google ranking of 4/10 or better for their website. Or you could write an article and maybe submit it to scribd which has a 8/10 google ranking or you could purchase the google service from INeedHits. I think you may want to work a bit more on your meta tags, etc. a bit before google visits though and then FORCE the visit. Google comes when it is following a link from another site. They call it a spider because the web is like a spider and everything connects in time. That is how google will find you. The higher the google ranking of the website where your link resides, the quicker google visits you. If you have any other questions, you can let me know. I have been working with marketing for over 9 years and love helping others so feel free - -
snowflys thanks for the review but I dont see any apostrophy in the title as you stated. In fact I completely ignored all apostrophes because I know that search engines don't read them. vik-pipes yes it's indexed but doesn't show up for any keyword even in the first 100 results which is weird because this niche isn't that competitive and I have done a lot of link building already. I wonder if Google sandboxed my site for some reason.
The site looks really good, I like it (I hardly ever say this ). One of the problems why search engines don't see your site may be in the content: it should be unique. There are many other possible variants, but you'd better consult someone who can examine your site thoroughly and find out the reason.
Patience my friend! As someone with some knowledge in SEO, I can tell you that just 3 weeks is not at all enough to expect getting loads of traffic from search engines. Getting indexed is a good thing but to get ranked, it will take some time. How much quality unique content you are able to fill your site with, is going to play a big role in that direction. All the best. P.S. I loved your site Logo!
thanks for the good feedback guys... yeah I guess I have to be more patient to see some good rankings but I'm still worried because most of my sites ranked on the 3rd/4th page within 2 weeks of launching them (and in more competitive niches). This niche (Girls Soccer) is not that competitive and my site is completely out of the top100 even for long tail keywords that I have been promoting. I mean I don't expect 1st page rankings so fast but how come I'm completely out of the top100 for all related keywords on both Yahoo and Google?? Search Engines must see something bad that I don't... could it be the fact that other sites sharing the same IP are spamming? (I'm using shared hosting with hostgator)
When reviewing your soccer site I have some advice: - since it is a girl soccer site, i kind hope for girl-ly colors - don't expect to load with bunch of ads if the visitor still low - write unique content
