Looks

Banner looks good, a bit dry but still okay.
Sidebar - lacks a little more interaction, put something else aside from the row of link navigation.

As for the overall visuals - lacks a bit of interaction and UI, i'd putting more on it however don't put too much.

Optimisation
Title - You've just duplicated the title, think of something else on the second batch of keyphrases.
Desc and Keywords - Both duplicate. Put something brief and descriptive on the meta desc. Something that will interest searches to click on your blog from the SERPs.
h1 - There's no h1 tag found. Only use this once on the homepage and put your primary keyword on it.
Page Speed - Minify your javascript, CSS, optimise your images and enable compression to help your page speed load faster.

 

Likes:

1. unique content
2. indeed informative
3. Okay theme.

Dislikes:

1. No SEO done at all.
2. No Sitemap
3. Although Okay theme, I'd suggest you to try premium theme or some others.

Left menu needs a whole lot more improvement . The headers of the articles look intrusive . The banner looks good but WTF is a menu doing above it ?

 

I like it some, is a tight but good niche, Also I'm sure you could much better with another theme or even better with a custom design, which on the long run will bring customers like ,despite the random landing visitors you get now.

 

Add more content. It will be great...

I think a good suggestion would be to shrink the height of the header image in order to get more content above the fold
