Be grateful for a few reviews on my site @ http://www.smokinghelper.com

One problem i have is that when you click on any monthly archive the sidebar drops to the bottom of the posts :-(

I've looked and looked but just can not see where the error is - any ideas anyone?

    Thanks in advance

I see what you mean here but I think the question on how to solve the sidebar issue is best left to designers. To me, I feel that something needs to be done on the templates and arrangements. The whole blog looks kind of cramped to me as well due to the large presence of the ads. Otherwise everything else would be ok.

ok... i've fixed the width at 800 - is that too narrow ? - maybe if i went up to 960 i'd give the articles/titles a bit more space?

There are too many ads on the page, you should remove some of them.

    have made a few changes..

site is now 900px wide (rather than 800px)

amazon advert removed from header, easyquit advert made wider and not so high

removed the clickbank ads from sidebar

articles are now wider so they are bigger than sidebars

overall i think it's improved but would welcome comments

any ideas how to fix the archive links /div issue?

I would agree the google ADS are too overpowering when you first look at the site not a good first impression.

Cool site though good topic am trying to quit myself :p

I've never seen so many ads on a good looking page. Some must go, maybe the amazon bunch? And i think one of the text links up top could go too. Good luck with it!

Nice looking site and good content, but when I opened the page I wasn't sure where to start reading.. Maybe have a play with different presentation methods for your main content.

Have a section of content thats clearly the first thing people should be reading on the page, and in that section explain exactly what your site is providing; information on how to quit smoking, reasons for quitting smoking etc.

    Nice looking website though :)

Ok, have reduced the ads now and moved the google tower ad to the right and remived one set of google link ads from the top, also removed the amazon block from footer so things look a little cleaner now i think.

Not sure how to make the content stand out more really but will maybe play arround over the weekend a bit!

Thanks for everyones input, its not always so easy when you are looking at your own site!

The eBay section at the bottom needs more styling. The position of right column of about and contact pages need adjustment.

Have redone the Ebay block in the footer, I can't seem to fix the issue of the sidebar displaying incorrectly on the contact and about pages etc - any idea anyone?

Ok... it seems that if a post is a "page" the the sidebar breaks so i've converted the only 2 page i had (contact and about) to posts and they seem to work find now.

the only time the sidebar breaks is when you click on an archive month, i'm assuming it's a </div> issue but don't know where i'm looking really - any ideas?
