    Hi,

I've designed and I'm working on http://eastbournewebdesign.net, Web Design Eastbourne.

    I'm testing on google.co.uk, not on google.com

I want to get on top of web design eastbourne query, what else can I change on my website to achieve this?
Not "Web Design Eastbourne" in quotes, but web design eastbourne.

The top of the listing is http://www.verygoodwebsites.co.uk and I would like to get somewhere there.

Also, what's your experience with targeting local phrases for web design companies? What people google for more "web design company <nameofthetown>" or "web design services <nameofthetown>" ?

Please share your opinion and experience and if helpful I'll post a blog post with a text link to your website on my blog.

    Hey!

I deeply advice you to take care of meta-tags. Keywords and description are the most important.

You already started with some nice and simple information about yourself. keep this up and try to
bring it down to about 180 chars telling what you are about. As you concentrate on local services,
give one introductory sentences like "Providing professional webdesign from Eastbourne" or sth. and
after that give some details like what you are offering and always stay connected to your area.

when it comes to keywords: keep that up! don't aim that much on common phrases like "webdesign"
but combine like. you should use Web Design Eastbourne first and then continue with 2- or single-phrases
repeating your main catch-words. If you've done so emphasise those words in your content like puting
it in header-tags and marking it bold.

And don't forget: always keep your code valid! there are some minor errors.

Hope I could help you a bit.

I have noticed that you have copied the text content from the bottom of www.verygoodwebsites.co.uk. This (apart from being illegal) will get your website blacklisted from Google. There is a fantastic website called www.copyscape.com that will let you track who is stealing your content without your consent!

Follows these simple rules for seo sucess

1, Age of Domain (the older the better)
2, Keyword related domain - (well done)
2, Relevant Back Links (use the keyword 'Web Design Eastbourne')
3, Text Content on Site, (if the website says 'Web Design Eastbourne' 100 times, write an article mentioning it 200 times.... (don't copy and paste their content though, it's illegal you know)
4, 5, 6, 7, 8 9, 10, the most important bits...... I will tell you when you add my link!!

I just spent a few minutes looking into the internal factors of SEO for your website. The results that I will discuss are for the homepage of your website, but you should consider these factors for each page of your website on a page by page basis.

The homepage of your Website has a title relevancy of: 57% (Look in to this.)

Your homepage has an overall SEO Score of: 75% (This could be improved.)

Your website does not have meta tags for keywords or description.
(I think you should consider using meta tags for this website.)

For example, look at the current 1st place website that you stated. View the source code of the homepage for that site and take note of how that website is using meta tags. This will help you get an idea of how to properly use meta tags to increase keyword performance. Meta tags are not required, but I think it is a good idea to use them most of the time. The only time you should not use them is if you have a good reason not to. I have been able to successful optimize website and target keyword phrase without the use of meta tags, but I use meta tags on most of the websites that I develop and optimize.

When using meta tags to define keywords, to not try to define too many keywords and keyword phrases on any single page of your website. When you need to define many keywords for your website, it is best to spread them out of different pages throughout your website.

After you have your website optimize properly for internal SEO factors, then I would advise you to consider external factors of search engine optimization.

Every SEO Expert and webmaster has different ideas and concepts when it comes to external SEO. I would recommend finding a few link directory websites and add back links to your website. When searching for link directories, try to find link directories that offer categories that are relevant to your website.

When posting back links to websites, remember to not always post a back link to only your homepage, link to other pages within your website as well. In your case, you may want to also consider finding a few link directories that are based in the UK.

When adding back links to website to increase keyword performance it is important to keep in mind that quality is more important that quantity. You may want post about 5 to 10 fresh quality back links to your website every month or so. Note: The value of free link directory websites is not from the traffic that is generated by user clicking on your link within the directory, the value is in the exposure that your website receives to search engine spiders and bots; like GoogleBot.

I also took the time to review the homepage of the website that is currently 1st place for the keyword phrase that stated in your question.

The results of this website are as follows:

    Relevancy of the Title: 94%
    Meta Description Relevancy: 66%
Relevancy of Meta Keywords: 100% relevant
    Overall SEO Score: 95%

    - This website is optimized very well and is making good use of meta tags to establish relevancy of keywords and keyword phrases.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to post them.

    Kind Regards,
