Review my SEO Blog - Review me.

Hi guys, well I have not made any changes to my SEO blog for a while now and I am wondering whether I need to. So I would like to know what you guys think.

Now before people start saying "Nice wordpress blog there" or whatever well it isn't it runs on NO blog format, just coded from HTML and PHP.

I update it manually, create a page, edit home page, edit nav bar, update sitemap upload pages e.t.c

I would put some date on your posts on the front page. I want to know if the posts are old or fresh when I enter a blog.

The layout is OK. can be better but not really needed.

Maybe you don't need all the blog titles listed on the right side. It's loon and doesn't really catch my eye. But the categories are good. I would click them and read the related posts from there.

Put some banners up for SEO products you can recommend. 120x120 banners. With so much knowledge, ppl will want to buy products that you have on your site.

 

Nice Blog. Good placement for email capture and the adsense block is great!

One thing I would do is cut your banner header in half. It takes up too much screen.
You want your offers as close to the top as you can without sacrificing uniqueness.

The blog is not bad but I think you could add some more colors into the color
scheme of the site.

 

Thanks everyone up to now, some very good points. I have also thought about getting rid of the links for every single post in the navigation bar.

At first this wasn't a problem however with making a couple of posts each day its becoming longer and longer so its something i am going to have to do something about.

Perhaps I will stick up a recent posts catergory and most popular post catergory on that side if i can find how to code it.

Another great idea about the SEO product banner, another thing i have experimented with nothing yet that i have found to be useful however i am still looking.

An interesting point about the banner being too big i may experiment with this and try a slightly smaller banner, as i have never thought about thsi before, suppose it depends on monitor settings too.

From a designer point of view I can see that:

- There is a low contrast in the body section with the normal posts. The titles are just a bit bigger compared to the normal text; the "continue reading" is just a bit smaller than the normal text. The color has low contrast too. So my eyes are not atracted by the title. When I scan the page I don't notice the important points you're talking about.

- You can work a bit on the logo. The "Back-links" text looks good, but it's not in contrast to the "The seo answer", which has the same style applied, only a different font. They must differ to draw atention. I think that "the seo answer" should be way smaller, and it should have another style applied ".ORG" extension is blue texture on blue background, which is not so good...

- I want to congratulate you on the custom coding, good work on it until now. You just have to polish it up bit.
