Review my new real estate site

Ok, I have completed my new website at http://www.gatedcommunitiesusa.com and I would like to get your thoughts and comments. This is a magazine style blog and communities listing site.

 

I really like your colors and the layout, great job

 

Thanks, I made some minor changes to the template and code to get the articles like showing excerpts with photos on the category and archive pages rather than full articles.

Initially, here's a couple of things:

* fonts for the titles of the recent entries are a bit too bold and pixelated
* move the featured video up to where the Google ads are
* obviously, remove the "Tools" sidebar links

Other than that, it's coming along nicely!

 

Looking sharp, the site as a really nice look, the ads place is great, good luck with it!.

 

I think the arrangements are not so good and you missed to add a logo for your site..

 

I like the site and it was very sharp.

 

1. Having the current date in prime real estate (top of site) is useless and distracts.
2. The logo is very primitive and a little boring.
3. Homepage feels cramped with the 3 columns and all the ads and what not.

 

Looks nice.
Keep adding content and you will do good with that site

IMHO, your site seems cluttered ...forgive me but i cannot navigate properly there and the info seems endless ..a sticky notes might work

Sathbob, What browser are you having alignment problems in. Looks fine in IE and Firefox?

BuritPari, can you provide more detail about what you can not navigate through? Communities are entered as blog posts and assigned to categories that fit their profile. There are main categories and subcategories. The top nav bar has a drop down box with the subcategories for that main category.

dc0ded, I am looking at adding a social bookmarking plugin to have bookmarking and digs at the bottom of the posts.

 

i really like it, very well organized, nice and professional looking! but at the same time it looks like a blog..

my first thing when i looked at it was..is it a blog? or a "for sale" website

 

I am using a wordpress as my cms, so yes it is a blog. I have found that for search engine ranking etc that wordpress far exceeds any other cms out there. I choose a magazine theme because in essence this is an online magazine about gated communities. The site has posts about gated communities and articles about real estate. Advertisers can sign up and have me produce a community page for them and market that page and their website online through my private network of blogs and article sites.

 

I like how you manage the view of content in front page, really inspired me.
