I am excited to have my first wordpress blog up and running. I found the theme on the wordpress theme page. Please give me an honest review. http://blozzz.com
The white header text over the graphic background is kind of difficult to read. Other than that, it looks good, although I am not a fan of the color scheme.
Your theme is okay, not bad and not that great. I think your first adsense block, the full banner, should be on the post content pane. For your sidebar ads, it should blend well. Try putting a border or matching border and background to the page's background color. I think a wide skyscraper could fit the area. The header image is not visible to me, it could be that my dialup hasn't finished loading it yet. If that's the case, try compressing it or resizing it to be smaller. A good website is good for all connection types. ;D
IMHO - the header text should stand out more and somehow blend in with the graphic - I am not a big fan of headers that take up such a large percentage of the page, so I'd definitely shrink it - the adsense banner (vertical under the header) should appear between the blog entries, and this would bring the actual contents up even more - the side adsense should be repaced with the wider option that Google provides - I'd definitely experiment with different color schemes for adsense and work on blending them into the rest of the site - the font looks ok on my big screen, but on my laptop reading this size for a longer time would give me a headache I think If I were you, I'd take a little break and then went back to it and played around a bit more. Wordpress provides countless options and plugins that can really beef a blog up. If you can modify the template codes, that can also help achieve a better result. I have recently completed incorporating a wordpress blog into a pre-existing website for a client of mine. It took me 3 weeks of testing and countless modifications before I finally woke up one morning and said to myself: "I think I'm done" Good luck!
I agree with that, I was trying to figure out how to change that. It was default on the theme when I downloaded it. I done that but right now it is a image ad and you can't change those colors. As far as the size I might change that. That is strange because I am on dial-up (the slowest one of know of) and I had no problems. Even cleared my cache to check. Thanks for the input guys, looking for more advice. Be gentle, I am a word press moron.
Thanks, I was looking for something short that can be catchy. I just made a change in the theme and changed a few things. Any more suggestions? Anybody know how I can change the background of adsense? I am using the adsense manager plugin and I have changed it there but it will not show up on the bog. It stays white no matter what I do to change it. Any ideas?
With wordpress you can do it with a plugin which I have done. My question is, why is it not setting the background I choose?
i like it,i just dont like th header image, and im not a fan of brown, and i think that you should put your adsense background color like the color of the background of the site, the content is nice.
Maybe you should try getting a good logo for it. If you can't make it, try the design section on this forum
Despite what offers say the header is nice good layout and well informed go for it hope it works well for you. 1 thing to point out you cannot please eveyone with your site others hate it or like it just this ITS YOUR SITE if your happy then thats what counts or you be changeing it forever to please eveyone and that you cannot do
Contrary to what others say here, I must say I absolutely love the theme actually. Seen the kind of posts you make (about family, your blog in general, ...) it suits perfectly! As it looks currently, it is a great site. What I'm currently missing is a logo maybe, a catchy 2.0 logo which can be partially "in" the content section, and partially "out" (see my screenshot below what I mean - of course this is a single dummy test logo worth nothing eh just a sample.). The current header image should be kept, it's really nice! The first blogpost is made in Times New Roman. All others in Arial, Verdana or related. I guess its a small CSS error; but could it get fixed? As Times New Roman makes it look more "dirty" (especially because it's the standard browser font). Your side ads blend will too, even if it's a white background color! I'ld only change the default link colors to match your theme more Further I actually don't have many other comments anymore, except maybe that you might add some kind of favicon (if you have a logo, it will be easier to get a good favicon). But really nice! -hans
I love that idea and even like the way you did it but I have no idea how to put it up. I am no coder and have no idea how to add a logo. This is my first wordpress and still trying to figure stuff out. Thanks for pointing out the difference in posts, I did not even notice. I had a different theme and I wonder if it was set with New Times. I will try to fix later. As far as the ads, I am still trying to get them blended, I am not sure why the colors won't change. I am using a plug in that is highly recommended "Adsense Manager" but when I go to manage ads and change all the colors, they show up there but not on the blog. I have no idea what is happening with that. All I can say to that is each to their own. You can not please everyone! Thanks for all the comments!
